I usually mix mine with a pump for 24-48 hours before putting in the tank.

i wait around 24 hours, or when i get to it the next day, or following day.
After seeing the chaulk like substance that cakes the side of my mixing barrel i feel like one must wait at least 24 hours.

When I used Oceanic, I would only wait a few hours. Now that I use Reef Crystals, I let it mix for at least 24 hrs.

*When I make 20 gallons at a time it can take me in excess of ten mins JUST to add the salt...I add it quite slowly.

I make up around 15 gallons of water in a 20 gallon Brute. I take some comfort in having saltwater already made in case of an emergency. Therefore, the day after a major water change, I run the RO/DI to fill the container and make the salt. It runs with a heater and Maxi-Jet 1200 until the next water change, probably five days or so.
