Filming ?

G'day all

Curious as to whether or not it would be ok to ask some questions about filming my aquarium in this sub forum, I cannot find one for it and my guess is that this is the next best place...

Cheers

I'm curious and need help on searching for the best High Speed Camera for filming slow motion that I can get for $3k or less...

I have searched extensively but am afraid to purchase then find out there is another better and around the same price......so I really want to be well seated before the purchase.

So far the best I can find that is $3k or under is the Nikon 1 V2 which can do 400FPS @ 640x240 resolution (the Nikon P500 that I have can do 240FPS @ 320x240 resolution max), so the Nikon 1 V2 is a slight upgrade (it can also do 1,000FPS but at VERY poor resolution so it is pointless for that).

I have fears that I won't actually find anything as TRUE High Speed Cameras are easily $8k for the lowest budget...

This is my Nikon P500 @ 240FPS (recorded @ 320x240 resolution), it has 1080p capability however I suggest viewing it in the window provided (don't expand it) as the resolution is poor.

I want to do better then this!

Originally I had my sights set on at least 500FPS with at least (4 figures) x (4 figures) HD resolution but then upon reading and seeing pricing of many...I doubt you can get that quality for less then $10,000...

So now I am just going to settle for the best I (and hopefully others) can find it's ALL about the Slow Motion High Speed capability...

Another good thing about the Nikon 1 V2 is that it has the ability to swap lenses unlike the Nikon P500 with its single fixed to body lens, thus if the Nikon 1 V2 were found out to be the best HS recorder affordable (less then $3k sitting quite 'cheap' at only $800-$900) I would also buy a Macro lens and turn it into my Macro camera for photography.

But...I don't care for 'secondary' effects (just thought I should mention the whole lens thing before someone else), if there is a camera with better High Speed recording but less features, I'd choose the one with better High Speed recording... rite now though it's the Nikon 1 V2, it's the best I can find....(this surpasses the Casio Cameras High Speed recording).
