I turn them inside out and hang them in a bucket. When I have about 10 of them, I wait until the wife is out of the house ( :lol2: ) and I run them through the wash. I don't use soap or bleach.

I turn mine inside out and run through the washing machine with bleach (luckily I have a washing machine at work).

Soak in a bucket of bleach inside out till I have enough to make a load in the washing machine. Wash with a quick cycle in bleach, then do an additional quick cycle with prime, then let air dry.

I usually rinse them off with the garden hose to get all the nasty crap off, then I throw them in the washer and do a couple quick wash cycles. First cycle I add a bit of bleach, second cycle is just a second rinse. Hang them out to dryba couple days afterwards

I have two tanks with two socks on each. They get changed out every week, so 4 get put into a salt bucket inside out with bleach and water until covered. The next week another four go in on top and more bleach/water added. I do two buckets like this. Once the the second bucket is half full, I throw the first bucket in the washer, still inside out and run it once with nothing. I then turn them the right way out and run them again. They go into a big 40 gallon brute can with about 20 others to dry out for at least a week.

Oh yea, I do dump the bleach water muck down the outside utility sink and rinse the bucket/socks out a couple times outside so that the bleach smell is not so overpowering inside.

So, I am soaking at least a week, sometimes three, but there is no set time for me.

I got tired of cleaning mine. So I buy two yards of felt, and have my wife make me 6 months worth of socks for around $11. I swap them out weekly and then toss the used one.

So, out of curiosity, why dry them before you put them back in the water?

I run mine through a wash cycle with nothing but water...and drop them back in the sump.

Whatever the filter sock catches & possible not get rinsed out during wash can die of. I also have extra filter socks to use for rotation, so i let dry out.

I throw mine in the washing machine and run it on a medium cycle without soap or bleach.
Then I rinse them in rodi

You let the dry because bleach breaks down when dry. If you don't use bleach you don't have to let air dry

I store socks until I have between 20 and 30 that are dirty and then run them through the washing machine. Wash with Oxyclean, rinse, wash again with bleach and rinse. then air dry and back into the storage box with all the other filter socks (I probably have 40 or 50).
