Filtered kalkwasser anyone?

I've always hated the idea of letting pre-mixed kalkwasser sit for a while before dripping. Would it be a good idea to drip lime water into a coffee filter before it enters the tank? This way you can drip immediately when mixed and the filter will catch the impurities. Coffee filters are cheap to replace. Just a thought. Anyone?

Why? If it is covered, it is fine. :)

I don't know how fine of particles will be caught by a coffee filter, but my concern is that on a high surface are substrate like that, there will be significant additional reaction with CO2 in the air before it goes through the filter.

This article has more on the reaction with air:

The Degradation of Limewater (Kalkwasser) in Air

Thanks for the article, Randy. My head is spinning after reading that article :D

Okay, filter aside. So, I assume it's perfectly okay to start dripping the lime water right after it's mixed. Correct?
