Finally got my Potters Angel!

Graham- I had a Bellus Angel, Flame Angel, Potter's Angel, Regal Angel and Mitratus Butterfly in my Elos System 70 (55 gallons)

I do not recommend anyone doing this. These fish started out together in a 240 gallon, and were in the Elos tank temporarily while a new larger tank was under construction. Sadly the heater in the tank malfunctioned and killed everything. :(

But I can say that these fish never fought and seemed to enjoy eachothers company.

Good luck with you new fish

~Michael

Thanks for the well wishes and I am very sorry to hear that about your tank. Thanks again for all the help.

definitely. Kevin actually spoke at one of my club meetings, and he went into what actually happens there. First they are acclimated to their water under red lights only to minimize stress, them they are all quarantined for at least 2 weeks and treated for anything that they may have and are trained to eat. Then they are moved to their main holding section where they remain until they are eating well and healthy and happy enough to be deemed ready for sale. He said that some of the fish are actually in their care for 4-5 months before they are even listed for sale. They do a great job of preparing their fish for captive life in out tanks.

This is excatly what Michael conveyed to me in my other thread and the reason why I wanted to buy my first angel from DD. Obviously I don't have the fish yet but my experince so far has been outstanding. The rep I ordred through was incredibly patient and answered all my questions and also understood that the fish could be sold quickly and expedited my order. Can't wait to get her home!

Nice Dwarf angel , a little out of my price range . Do you mind me asking what you paid?
I always thought most dwarf angels ate or nipped corals, is that true?

mine is either 79.99 or 89.99 plus tax so localy its 86.67 or 97.50 for a 2"potters

the last listing on DD was 89.99 which is for a 3" potters

as far as corals it dont matter in my tank (fowlr) but it is hit or miss with drawfs and they can be modle citizens for a long time then decide to chow down on corals

Outstanding news! Very cool of your LFS to do that for you. Congrats, make sure to post pics.

Yep, $89.99+shipping. It was worth it to me as this may be one of only 2 fish I keep in this tank. I want to keep food competition to minimum (at least for a good while).

And yes he very well may nip and if the corals become threatened I am prepared to remove them.

well i got a good lfs who has been in buisness for close to 30 years at the same location, i go in every saturday morning and have coffee with the owner and shoot the crap for a couple hours, this is not the 1st time he has held a fish for me but i have also ended up with a few free fish as well over the years, i can go in and charge(store charge) things just by saying ill pay for this on payday with out signing a sales ticket or anything just on my word of course i only use this privilage on an emergency basis since i prefer to pay as i go on fish hobby(obsession) rather than racking up a credit card bill it works out great for me..

Oh man I lucked out. I almost feel bad about telling you what I paid, which was $34 for one at a little less than 3 inches.

great price on yours, i know my lfs is high on prices concidering the majority of his customer base is doctors, lawyers, oil company execs, and airforce pilots and he is a lawyer himself

the next closest good lfs is 2.5 hours away(one way)

i dont mind paying the higher prices on some of the more desired fish and the privilages iam afforred at his store but i do buy my more common stock and most dry goods online and some fish online and in another town and he knows this

Got my tracking number so she has been shipped. The FedEx site said the package weighed 11+ lbs! Sounds like a lot of water and hopefully plenty of heat packs! Can't wait for tomorrow!!!

Waiting stinks , doesn't it! The last couple of shipments I got were 8:30 in the morning which was great. A couple of times I had to wait till after 5:00 pm which makes for a long day standing with your nose against the window , looking down the street for the almighty delivery truck! At least you are dealing with fedex and you can track delivery thru the day. UPS does not give up any info!

Hope it arrives fat and healthy for you!
