Finally got pics of my little guy!!

Man I have been trying to get a good pic of my little mystery mantis and finally got him with my new camara! Also I was wondering, I thought that haptosquillas were smashers but this guy I think is a spearer!! I tried to get a pic of it when it was climbing up the side but he was to quick but it looked like little spearers were there!! Or do I have it backwards and hapto's are spearers? Man what an awsome hobby!!!!

haptos are smashers look closeley at the front of him were the dactyls on a reg smasher would be. you'll see small one's with a white tip.

This is Haptosquilla hamifera, so something very close to it. Most of these animals are coming in LR out of Fiji or Tonga. They are indeed smashers as are all members of the family Protosquillidae.

Oh okay thanks. He is so small and I thought I saw spearers tucked under and the white smasher was a joint. Do these guys get big?

No. 30mm is as large as I have seen them.
