Finally joined the MH club! (Lots of pics)

Did you try to add Reefbrite blue to your tank? You will amaze how it turn out.

Actually I was really considering using some blue leds to supplement the metal halides, but I had this aquaticlife fixture laying around and only the computer board that controlled the whole fixture was fried, so I took out the T5 ballasts, endcaps, and reflectors and wired them up to a cord and presto! I actually still have the 8 blue led moonlights from that aquaticlife fixture as well that I would like to retrofit to the metal halide but Im struggling to figure out what kind of cord to wire them to because they are low voltage

Been quite a while since I updated this thread. I picked up a new piece today that im super stoked about and want to share. Its a mericulture piece has quite a bit of coloring up but right now its a white/cream base and branches, blue axial coralites and red polyps. Its tough to tell cause its an Iphone picture and a bit grainy cause of how far I had to zoom in but you can get the idea. Cant wait to see its full potential!

Thanks cugly I think so to its a really sweet piece. Heres a FTS I just shot it 5 min ago. Dont mind algae on back wall I had a massive bacterial bloom a month ago and then this horrible algae bloom but its getting under control.

Thanks oldude. I really want to get some pictures with my digital camera because the iphone pics are a little washed out because of the blue lights but I took some anyway to show an update from my first coral shots. Look at the LR and notice how almost ALL the coraline died off from the bacterial bloom. That really set me back corals browned out, coraline died, and algae grew like crazy. You can still see some of the algae holding on the rocks in the top down shots. Here they are [emoji106][emoji41]

It looks like your tank is turning the corner and coming back. Do you user a viewer for your top down shots?

Yea thanks pife its defintely come a long way in just a month. I dont use a viewer for the shots I just shut off all the PH and return pump. I would like to get a view though but none of my lfs carry them. Heres what I woke up to when I had the bacterial bloom, keep in mind the water was crystal clear and everything seemed normal and healthy before I went to sleep.

wow that bacterial bloom looks like a lime slush i would have had a panic attack over that one!just a bulb suggestion have you seen or used ushio 20k ? imho they are awsome just not par monsters but with 5 halides you really dont need massive par.

Dude I was losing my mind when I woke up and saw that. The worst part was I had to go to work so I was there all day worrying what id come home to. I have not used ushio bulbs but maybe I will give them a shot next time. I just recently switched bulbs and right now my 3-250 watts are xm 20k and my 2-150 watts are phoenix 14k. Also for blue supplement I have 4x54watt geissemann actinic plus t5s.

The pic of the bacterial bloom came out weird cause it was dark in my room n I had my flash on but its actually not green it was snow white

Even though its a chalice I figured some of you sps guys and girls would still appreciate this one as much as myself... Flaming bugatti, been in my system for about 4 months or so doing quite well has grown about 3/4" in diameter
