Finally! My 100 to 150 Upgrade & Build.

Hi All,

So I came across a buy that I couldn't resist. There was really only one size tank that I could upgrade to and have it work in my place. And I found it and pulled the trigger.

A lot of work coming my way but well worth it. I love the detail on the furniture. The plan is to paint everything satin black and am going with Tahatian Moon black sand.

40 gal sump
Reef Octupus NW-200 skimmer
Apex controller
Jeabo dc6000 return pump
2 X Jeabo WP 25 & 10 (upgrading soon to either WAV's or Gyre, can't decide!)
3 X Kessil A360WE
2 X VHO 40 watt blue & white
1 X Current 48" LED strip fixture (for sunrise / sunset & special effects).

Paint job, Satin black with an acrylic matte for protection against saltwater.

Very nice! Glad to see it coming together! Can't wait to see it when it's all setup! When are you going to transfer your other stuff in?

Taking it slow. I've already moved my old setup to the other side of the room. Plan to slowly fill with water changes to avoid as much if a cycle as possible.

I doing half new water and half existing water from the old setup. My hopes are that it'll help with a cycle.

Following along....Nice Tank! I'm upgrading to a 150 also and wondering how are the WP-25's working for you? ohhow long have you had them?

Thanks. It's not up and running yet. Slowly filling. I have a wp25 & 10 that work on my 5' 100 gallon. I planned to upgrade to Neptune's WAV's but just found out that the Gyre is Apex controllable. Will likely go that route.

Did you custom build your stand and canopy. If so where did you purchase the metrials and doors.

My skills aren't that good! Haha. I found it used from a lfs. In the first pic you can see how it was when I picked it up. Did some patching and painting but overall it was as is.
