my tank is cooler lots of different kinds of tangs 2sohal two purple and 3 sailfin they love the space you get from a 5 galon

wheres the tang police when you need them?

i have 3 small fish in my 50g i love tangs but its called impulse controll otherwise id have an octopuss and 2 sharks

In my 100 gallon I have a 10 foot great white. His tail gets kind of dry. But that’s ok, it doesn’t matter if it hangs out of the tank. After all I got to do is splash a little faucet water on his tail and he's good to go for a couple a days. I so love my disease infested aqua-economy.

WEEEEEEEEEEEE

Thanks for all the criticism from the a$$holes on the board. its good to know that when a noob makes a mistake he is mocked and ridiculed for it. its a simple mistake and when the LFS is just selling u fish saying its gonna be ok...well.....I buy them. Some of you have been very helpful and I greatly appreciate it, others are just ignorant, as am I they have pointed out.

besides the fish choices great tank like the aquascaping you obviosly spend allot of time on the tank and it shows the tang thing is an ongoing joke sorry you got cought in it i love this forum and you should too reef central is not a place to be made fun of and i apologise

Having fun is part of life. :)
So is learning :)

I think that I would not listen to that LFS any longer.
There is a wealth of knowledge in this forum. I would do some research on tank size recommendations for the type of fish that you are wanting to incorporate into your aquaria habitat.
Just remember the "Search" button is your friend and LFS's are out to make money.

So on a serious note, what kind of filtration you got on that 90 gal? and how much lighting? What skimmer did you go with and how big is your sump?

I have a mct skimmer, 18w aqua medic UV, 516w outer orbit MH/T5 lighting and

I'd put some LR in place of the bioballs if you havent already. It helps to have some in the sump, just dont let any rubble get sucked into your pump.

Ya, some people can hammer you when overstocking tangs like that.
They are mainly getting at I think...
Sohal for one will get real aggresive toward the other 4 tangs over time, but you said you were moving him.
The sailfin tang can grow to around 16" I think, and some people say they don't fit a 180 sometimes.
You can probably do what you have in there for now, but when they start going at it, take the bully out. I'm sure you could get away with possibly 2 of the smaller tangs without having to get rid of them later. The kole and the other zebrasoma one you have in there will probably be fine.
If the filtration can handle it and you don't have any off water quality, you are good to go with the tangs, just watch out for them until they start fighting.

Thank U!!!!

Thank U!!!!

Something like that is exactly what i want to hear. Still got the point across that I overstocked but threw it at me the right way! Sohal is out now... the last 4 are getting along fine so far but I do know that without a tank upgrade the clown and sailfin will end up having to go and then ill get a chevron.
