Finally! Starting my way back into the hobby...

Awesome Tank. I love the 75.

One suggestion, buy some Krylon Fusion Black Spray Paint and paint the outside of the back glass. Make sure to give it 2-3 coats. That will give the tank a nice deep look and also prevent you seeing all the cables hanging down the back.

You can also use a black window tint, but to me those things are more a pain to install then they are worth. And eventually they start to bubble.

Oh and be sure to tape some cardboard to the sides so you don't accidentally spray paint an area you don't want. Also, tape a 6-8" piece of cardboard along the top of the back frame so that when you spray the top of the back glass, none gets into the tank.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was toying with the idea of painting or leaving it as is, but I would hate looking at the cables and tubing back there. Will let you know how it goes. Happy New Year!

Yes! No cables!!! they look terrible!

Good luck.

I'll offer up my 2. I'm sort of on the fence about painting the back. Yes it looks "cleaner" and more finished but it also makes the tank look smaller and more "enclosed". By leaving the back clear and keeping it clean, you can make the tank appear more open or bigger, especially if you are into corals. You will also get more light to the back of the tank as well, not that it matters much. With my "side tank" I left the back unpainted and painted everything black so even though you see pipe, it looks clean and somewhat finished. It really opens up the back of the tank. You will need access to the back of the tank for cleaning but its worth it.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought about it, but my tank will be against a wall (once I get the ok from the wife) which is painted in a slightly darker tone of yellow. I didn't like that for a background inside the tank. So, I decided to paint black. I got the recommended Krylon spray paint and did the job. I like the look and the fact that it will hide my less than perfect plumbing masterpiece :lolspin:

I do appreciate your perspective.

Hello fellow reefers!

It has been a while and I have been so busy with work. So, I just got around to finishing the plumbing on my 75g. It was my first time, so was skeptical about doing this myself. However, after reading a bit and watching some YouTube videos, I decided to go for it. And here is the result... simple but clean.

I'm looking forward to getting my tank up and running, even if it's only water. 😁
