Changed the lighting today to a Marinland pro series light fixture. It's a 60 inch fixture so temporarily using this till I get the 48 inch fixture a buddy has in his closet. Currently I'm running 2- 150w De Phoenix 14k, 2 blue+ and 2 purple+.

I was debating whether I should switch to 150 or 175w MH instead of my 250's. I have to acclimate for a month or more to avoid bleaching. It''s just annoying at this point.

Time for a update.

The reactor is great. However I've been loosing hard corals. I noticed the coral line was changing color to a deep red.


All parameters have been in "check" the highest phosphate reading I've got has been .06. So of course I blamed lighting and took the T5s off. And started changing the flow up. 2 weeks ago I took the Tunze out for cleaning and put it up on the shelf for a while. Look what I found yesterday

Since the tank is jacked up I figured why not change the lighting again

Looks nice. I always loved the look of halides...I just didn't like the heat or expense.
