These pics were taken with no flash the camera was set at 800. I just keep changing the angle of the shot to minimize the glare from the MH.. I shut off all other lights in the room..
WHen I try and get the shot too square from the front it looks all washed out. If I angle upwards from down low it gets too much glare from the tank lights.. It always seems to come out pretty good if I take the pic from the top edge of the aquarium looking down.. Sometimes it messes with your depth perception though... If I can rest the camera against something or use a tripod that helps a great deal as well... Just my heartbeating is enough to make it blurr upa little bit..
These are just my amateur tank pic experiences.. I wish I could take pics like some of the others here... I don't even know how to setup my camera

Doug, glad to see you got it in there OK and it looks really, really nice. Guess the late evening ride and transfer didn't affect anything at all, as everything is really nice and open. Good to see the babies as well ... they look in great shape and hopefully will enjoy the new additions to their playground.
Hey Jim, would love to get some pics to add to the family album. The caroteniods in the Arctipods will definitely enhance the reds, plus the nutritional makeup should fatten them up nicely. Good to hear the article was well received and am looking forward to the first print!
