Fire Angel from Exotic Tropicals

Scott,

Hope that got your attention, I can't find your phone number. That Fire angel I bought from you is not doing well. He is just laying on the sand breathing a hundred miles per hour. I don't know if he is on his last leg or if he will gather himself and be okay. Anything I can do to help him out?

Chris:confused:

Water is good, the blenny I bought is doing fne. Maybe this is normal and I didn't put this here to bash Exotic Tropicals or Scott, stuff happens, but I didn't know if this kinda behavior is normal for a new fish. I know sometimes I don't see them for hours or days, but never noticed the others laying down.

Chris,
I am sorry to hear that the Flame angel is doing poorly. It is very surprising to me since that specimen has been in my system for more then two weeks with not even a spot of ick and eating on a daily basis. There were no major issues in catching and bagging him, and my water parameters are perfect, I just tested them. Did the fish overheat in transit to your tank? How long was he in the bag? Was he exhibiting this behavior in the bag? If so it might be O2 deprivation, if not then it could be your tank parameters. My number is also on my signature line 719-475-1675 keep me informed on his condition.

:eek2:

Scott, like I said I am not trying to Bust your B@!!$. He was acting kinda like that in the bag, I kinda rustled it to see if he was alive. He wasn't in the bag for more than 30 minutes, just drive time to Pueblo, in the M3. I'll just see what happens. THe blenny is doing great and is already attacking the algae in the tank.

Chris

The other thing is that the Angel made the mistake of laying down in an area the Clown didn't want him and got the ever loving "stuff" beat out of him. THe fight lasted like five seconds!

Chris,

No worries on busting anything, I just want you fish to be ok. That is awesome on the blenny, go figure, same tank. Anyway, keep me posted, call me, PM me, just let me know how he is doing. I hope the encounter with the Clown was not to bad.

Scott

Just FYI, I hope no one out there thinks I was trying to Flame Aquaman2000 with this thread. He is a great guy and I would and will buy fish from him any time. I don't understand the series of events that led to this, but the only reason I posted this on the board is because I had no other way to get a hold of him. Scott has a great shop and for anyone who has not been there, don't let this stop you, it won't stop me! ;)

Sorry Chris, I think everyone know what kind of shop Scott runs and how he does care about his customers and his livestock.

I love the shop scott has helped me with 2or3 things i push is shop no a loot of popple all the time.

Your Clown Fish beat up the Flame Angel, do you have an Anenome that the Clown lives in? Is it possible that the Flame Angle got stung by the Ananome as the Clown was chasing him around? I've had fish that have been stung by an anenome and acted exactly how you described this fish acting. Just a thought.

Sorry to hear it didn't make it.

It's sure possible, I didn't see it if it happened. The clown and the Angel had a brawl worthy of a Showtime special in an area away from the Anenome. I guess the good news is that Clown is one tough fish. He's been with me the longest and been through my mass death a few months back, so it's kinda hard to dislike him for what he did (not that I can do anything about it), but I wish he wasn't so aggressive.
