I'm trying to figure out what is up with my purple firefish. I woke up this morning to find him laying by some brown button polyps breathing heavily. He then swam under the rock and has been laying under it since on the sand.
It's a 90 gallon with 20 gallon sump. We've had the tank setup for over a year, and the firefish has been in for almost the entire time without any issues.
Ammonia/Nitrite/Nitrate = 0
PH = 8.3
Calcium = 420ppm
Alk = 9/10
Salinity = 1.025
We currently use RO/DI water, and have an auto top off, which we dose kalk with as well.
Fish in the tank:
2 false percs clownfish
1 mandarin
1 reg. firefish
1 purple firefish (with problems)
1 male lyretail anthias
1 tomini tang
1 diamond goby
1 yellow watchman
We also have all sorts of corals, but the one that has caught my attention was the toadstool leather as he hasn't been 'happy' in about 2 weeks, I believe he is possibly molting. I wasn't sure if his issues could be causing this in just this fish as well.
