Hi guys hope you can help.

After reading more than a few threads i have figured out that you have to uninstall the GHL software before installing the new. This i did not realize, as i mistakenly thought that it would loose reference settings etc. Now, i have a plan for softare.

1. For Firmware, when updating what is the most successful and prefered route ... usb or network or serial?

2. Does it say successfully completed update, so you know its done?

i have been having trouble of late. Thanks in advance for any help.

You can do the firmware update via USB, serial will always work even if there would be issue during the firmware update (it would even work if there would be no firmware)

I have successfully done over lan, USB and serial... but I prefer to use serial

DO NOT do it over Lan. They specifically say not to do it over Lan. My Lan connection drops out all the time, and would cause a malfunction, and I believe that they said something about it over on their support forum too.

If I were going to want to (and I think you almost have to) update the PC Software and the Firmware which do you do first or does it matter? I know you have to REMOVE the old software first but does it matter which I do first software or firmware?
