Phenotype- What the animal look like
Genotype- What gene the animal carry
Heterozygous genotype carry one normal on one chromosome and one recessive gene in the other chromosome (albino in this case)
Homozygous genotype carry the same gene on both chromeosomes (either normal or the mutation)
I think albino is a recessive gene. A fish only appears albino if it have both albino gene and no normal gene. It it have two normal or a normal and a albino gene then it appears as a normal fish, or normal phenotype.
So that means:
Heterozygous genotype is the clown, who looks normal orange, but he carries the normal gene and the recessive gen (albino strain).
Homozygous genotype is every normal clown and every albino. They carry only the normal genes. In the case of the albino, the normal gene is the recessive gene. That´s why the albino/albino offspring will show 100% albinos.
Am I right?
