First Anemone

I got my first anemone this Tuesday, a small BGTA. its pretty small not, maybe 2-3". it seems to be doing well, inflated and has remained in the same spot i put it in Tuesday night, smack dead right under the lights somewhat low in the tank. i covered my vortech and moved some corals around in case it wanders. it doesn't seem bleached at all and looks to be enjoying my LEDs, I have my sol blues set at RB55/B50/W45 for now. i haven't fed it yet, I've got some silversides i will try though. im hoping my clown will find it soon, she took right to my hammer coral in my last tank. this is the only crappy pic i have for now

congrats on the new nem. be very careful of your clown hosting that nem unless the clown is also very small. typically the nem should be four to five times the size of your clown. The "love" your clown will show the bta can be quite stressful and often if the nem is too small it can be "loved" to death. My avatar shows my Rbta and when I got her it was perfect size for my baby cinnamon. However the nem got sick and though it has made a full recovery, its about an inch smaller than its original size. while the nem was in recovery the female clown was not hosting and gas grown a good inch and has now gone back to its nem. The problem is that now the clown is about 1/2 the size of the nem and I fear she's stressing my nem out bad. Though the nem remains inflated and colorful her mouth often remains open and sometimes gapes. Unless I see a marked improvement from the nem in a few days I'm going to have to qt the clown. My point is just keep close eye on the two and make sure all is well for the first few days of hosting. In case your clown over stresses ur nem, make sure to have a back up plan for isolating the clown so you don't end up losing the nem. hopefully you won't encounter such an issue but just wanted to give you a heads up since its your first. good luck and beautiful nem by the way, most green bubble tips are rarely that pretty green!!

My gold stripe maroon clown pair was two much for my anemone and i had to trade them in for some true perculas that were more gentle and smaller too

thanks for the heads up, i appreciate it. my clown is small but really hasnt taken notice to the nem yet. she's maybe half the size of the nem. she did take right to hosting a hammer in my old tank but was a little rough with it and lost it after about 4months of hosting.
