I have a 5" in PBT that I've kept for 3+ years, great fish, but he doesn't like new people :D

I broke down and added a juvie Clown Tang yesterday, he's so small he looks like a damsel! The PBT was pretty harsh on him, but this morning he seems to have laid off a bit, the CT has a couple of split fins, but looks to be in good shape. I am interested to see him when I get home tonight after the lights have been on all day...

Have you decided upon a fish list for the tank? Are the Damsels still in the display tank, or were they moved to one of the others?

I agree SPS... one of the more rewarding parts of the hobby is watching fish grow under our care. The same thing applies to coral: growing from a small frag can be very enjoyable as opposed to buying a larger colony.

In my experience, in some species, larger fish can also be fussier eaters - although I haven't found this with Tangs.

thanks guys but i will have all type of sizes for livestock and corals. i am already enjoying the entire setup i accommplished also by placing frags in my tank :D would be kind of funny judging by the size of my setup:lol: i know there are tons of ways of getting things done  . thanks again guys

the only real difficulty with putting such diverse sized fish together is that the large ones may pick on the small ones. In fact, when I select fish, I try to get ones that are close to what I already have. Of course, that's not always possible.

the setup is awesome. youve taken a lot of time and put a lot of effort into the system. everyone has different opinions and ideas in this hobby, and i was just curious why you decided to go with mostly larger sized fish.

I have heard of a few people saying that those yellow-belly hippos will eat zoos so if you are going to keep zoos be careful.

any tang will eat zoos. that's what fish do all day...run from predators and taste everything they see. I have a sailfin that is eating aiptasia and xenia.

I hear ya there Bart! I know Marc had to remove a "Hippo" because it was snacking on his polyps, but I have a similar philosophy as you. I try to put in animals that will be the least "likely" to negatively impact my reef, but once they are in, they develop personalities and not only is there no guarantee, but very little chance of getting them out once they prove to be problematic.

You missed a tang!. I wish I had the room to do all that! It should be amazing. You should never have an algae problem. How about some pics of the fish you got now? Like those 10 yellow bellies Im dying to see............

anyone got some good ideas to add some more tangs to my system? my PBT is a beast, but I suspect I might be able to add more yellow tangs...I'd love to have a tank full of different types!
