Very cool. Gonna be awesome to follow.

Also very cool that we have the same tank dimensions, strikingly similar equipment, and hobbies. I think i met my long lost twin.

Good luck with it man. Let me know if you've got any questions as i've been through it all before!

Bart..Are you running another reactor for your carbon? Do you have any new pictures of the light canopy with the new fixtures? Project looks like it is progressing nicely!

I agree with doctor64776, the best way to naturally jump start a tank is to use something from an established reef tank. Sand, piece of live rock, etc. I have read that water from another tank will not work as well as the others.

Also, very nice tank, you have really thought things through, great job. I will continue to follow.

no other reactor, ok i used the bags again. here's what i did 3 100micron bag each bag holding 3.76L of black diamond, each bag was double zip tie the top making sure nothing leaks or overflow out. i will be changing them out every two weeks. been busy at work but also making time to finish chiller. i should have some new pics soon, thanks.

thanks, but where i bought my LR from had been fully cured. also if i had to used some bacteria from an established reef it would have to be similar to my size or else wouldn't make an impact.

That larg PBT could be a problem also. And I agree with Jonathan.. every tank I read about that had a school of yellow or blue tangs said that they ended up turning into a "gang" that harrassed the other fish. But your tank it pretty big, maybe you will get lucky with them ? :)

thanks, i know its hard to keep PBT but i like the challenge. all the fishes i plan to keep is not going to be small. most of them will be XXL since the tank is like an ocean that's why i didn't fill the tank full of LR so plenty of swimming space and caves were made.

Have you decided upon a fish list for the tank? Are the Damsels still in the display tank, or were they moved to one of the others?
