I am very impressed and amazed that you took such an undertaking on your first tank. I think because you are in your line of work is why your so detail oriented. You definitely put your skills to the right hobby. I have been following this thread but have waited to say anything until it was completed. I know its not 100 % complete but I cant hold back any longer. You did one of the most impressive systems i have seen by your own might i say "handy work". You did an extremely smart thing by creating an enormous working space for the equipment room. Most people make it small and just enough for the equipment with little room to move around meanwhile the majority of the time spent working on this thing will be in that room. I was equally impressed with your choice of lighting. When i asked about my system which is similar dimensions to yours, one of the lighting gurus "names witheld" told me that 6-8 400watt MH's were overkill and that 4 would be enough. You are right on target with your choice. You will enjoy this tank for decades.
All The Best!

thanks, don't hold back on posting its fun. the main reason why i turn my garage into fish room was not to have any water in the house since the kids are still in their demolition stages. 30x20 is just enough if you can plan out your equipment placement.
