just getting scared and they like to protect themselves. it's really a moody fish IMO, at least much more visibly so than most. Most all fish have mood colors but it is radical in the foxface. Mine goes total camo at night to the point that it is tough to discern it from the rocks.
The shot I posted was during the day too, but while I was draining my tank so the fish were seriously freaked out.

2nd tank - 100gal frag tank if i ever get some frag. as of now OCT-150 skimmer for heavy feeding 3 yellow belly regal tang from the 10 i started with
, desjardini sailfin and sun polyp. connected to main system
For some reason, i find the yellow belly much harder to keep than the usual blue hippo tang. It took mine about 1 month before accepting nori and 1 month later to start eating flake/frozen food. What are yours eating now? How come they are still in your frag tank?

thanks Bax, as i don't have a real camera to take any pics of the new incoming corals. sorry, but i cant even named most of the SPS that i purchased over the past 4 months , but i know most of the LPS that was purchased, but the SPS has no name at all when i ordered them.
i2ik started with 10 1" yellow belly and now only 3 left, past away due to ich outbreak in the beginning only the stronger ones survive, but the yellow belly consume every type of foods i gave them.

its about that time to make some foods (3 quart ziploc) which they consume in three months.
ingredients used:
1 whole garlic
1/2 lb. fresh shrimp, squid and scallop
2 frozen packs of Hikari algae, mega angel and ocean plankton
1/2 cup formula 2 pellets and 1 cup of flakes
1/2 cup spectrum thera+ pellets by new life
15 grams whole freeze dried cyclop-eeze since out of frozen one
1 oz. garlic xtreme, 30ml Selcon, 4 oz. Zoecon and 2 oz. vita-chem
procedure for mixing ingredients together:
1. all frozen food Hikari cubes are soaked w/RO for an hour
2. fresh seafood are chopped and blended to almost paste form
3. add fresh seafood along w/Hikari products mix using spatula
4. add all pellets, cyclop-eeze and all liquid vitamins mix again
5. last item added flakes then carefully folding w/spatula but not breaking flakes into pieces

Foxfaces from time to time get very scared my foxface changes colors when its scared and goes hiding in the rocks. But this is not bad its just what they do and i think they look pretty cool with that pattern they have.

well as stated almost blend to paste form, still has tiny bits leftover. i throw frozen cube pieces directly into tanks and within mins. its all gone as it only take few secs for it to thaw in main display at 79deg and the fishes go crazy over them, also nori is giving to them every other day which is also soaked with garlic extreme and selcon. i should have added some cooked broccoli but totally forgot or even bananas .
