(First Reef Tank Ever) **** 600gal Display **** 1300gal System

Bart, you still don't have your Ca reactor up yet??? Did you end up getting the pinpoint ph controller off the classifides?

I think you should scrape your corralline as well. Are you trying to compete with jonathan?? :D

no one can compete with me. I am in a class all by myself.

Where do you mix your water for w/c's? What else do you have in the first sump, and the 1st is under your display correct? Anything else you would change. I want to get mine done when I get back home. I was going to use 2 rubbermaid trashcans for storage and mixing. But now that i am changing my 75 fuge for my old 150, i was thinking I could just use the 75 for ro storage. I would have more then twice the capacity of the trash can. Are there any pros or cons to doing it like that. I would rather make use my 75.

the water change sump is where all salt water is mix, currently 85gal water change is done weekly for about another few months and LM3 will be setup to do 12gal daily continuos water change. first sump is under main display 96"x30"x24" 1st half is 1st fuge and 2nd half is main sump. a lot of things i would and completely redesign, its always better to have more water on hand just in case. im not sure about trash can pros and cons but i didn't want that in my fish room. then again everybody is different

calcium and kalk reactor is collecting dust in my closet for now :D
thanks but i was too late on that deal, just have to ordered one and will sit there for another couple months before i can get to it. too many house projects going on that needed to be address first before i can play with main display again.

not too bad to have coraline background, this just means no more purple coral will be purchased :D

J that is sick. any favorite spots when feeding time came around . how do you manage to have two back display on the same tank, only you can do something like this :D

Well, I did have a little window scraped into the back so I could see into the tank. It was funny because the fish used it to see me too. So when I came into the tank room, they would all crowd into that little space to see if I was going to feed them.

again PaPa, i just posted some pictures, but if you are looking for some more i will be happy to post up some house projects :D

here are the current projects im working on: 270' fencing, 20' x 20' covered deck and 4 kennels 4' x 8' w/individual covered room. more to list but these are the main one for now, hopefully to get done about a month, but with help that's if i can find some could be done in few weeks :D

another all nighter started 10pm - 4am back to reefkeeping hours again :D. just completed 175gal water change last night and made some changes to plumbing. let me know if i did something wrong :)

1. both main display overflows are now plumb into 1st fuge area then overflows into main sump, by doing this i was able to dial down to about 2200-2500gph going through my main sump and getting better performance from skimmer and reactor thus stopping microbubbles completely. with the baffles previously installed didn't work out to well b/c of too much water flow in the main sump almost 4000gph. next in line will be plumbing one of main overflow into skimmer when part arrives.

2. the chiller is now plumb CL on main display. temperature reading probe from main display and not sump temperature.
before i had the intake plumbing from main sump and returning into main display. there was too much water flow going through my main sump. hopefully this is a good idea and if not i can always put it back the way it was before

still waiting on some items to come. as of now PF1001, 90lbs ROWALith C+, 20lbs aluminum CO2 and 10lbs for backup. ordered american pinpoint Ph controller and regulator last week so soon

Wow Bart. I have spent the last hour or so getting caught up on your thread. You have an amazing system and I am glad that you did not hang it up.

thanks Mark, some more corals were purchased and move a few things around. i need to invest in a real camera rather then buying more corals :D sorry guys for the poor picture quality, and hopefully this will do for now.
