(First Reef Tank Ever) **** 600gal Display **** 1300gal System

I hope Bart mixes in some mouthwash (EXTRA minty) in that fish food with all the garlic he's putting in! :D

That's probably why his foxface is hiding from all the other fish! :D

But seriously, garlic serves what purpose?

1) stimulates appetite
2) does it prevent/cure ich? fact or fiction?

secret chinese recipes tbone cant say, i also used MSG additives to stimulates PBT against ich :D. i forgot to add salt, pepper and onions b/c they look at me funny today after feeding not enough flavor. well i got home and started feeding my new freshly mix foods, after a few hours went to check up on them and now i have a big problem. i noticed the orange shoulder stomach is bigger then yesterday. so my guess is stomach acid or diarrhea, unfortunately i will have to clean the skimmer earlier then normal

had some extra garlic laying around and no plans on using it to cook

Ohhhh! what a boring answer! :D And I thought you knew some magic potion of curing Ich!

That is quite a recipe. That reminds me that I need to make a new batch. Have you ever used PE mysis shrimp in your recipe?

Hey Mark,

can you post your recipe?

The next time that I make a batch, I will do something like Bart did. ;)

well doing whatever it takes to keep my PBT healthy and the rest of the fellas, as of now he's the king and any fishes that gets in his way will be destroy. have you even sniff garlic xtreme and see how potent it is? i figure it wont hurt by adding regular garlic and xtreme, but it will help the fishes go crazy over every meals. well for the past 4 months they been satisfied with the food i prepared for them and will stay with the same menu until new fishes arrives, but that won't happened for another 3-4 months easy. i want the PBT to feel as comfortable as possible and even w/600gal they will still find each other to get into fights. now if i had your kitchen, then gourmet dinner will be served every night :D

mark don't stare at the food too long as you might get hungry too . set the pic on your desktop

Awesome tank!!!!
I would love to see that in person.
I finally got my dinky little 70 up this year....
And by the way,
It snowed here on Christmas of 2004 just before the storm.

so i was thinking about getting one of these. are these guy reef safe and do i need to removed any angel from the display.

clarion.jpg

I dunno if they are safe, not many of them in anyones tank i don't think............they look nice but $3,500 is kinda steep for a fish.

all you need to look at in terms of "reef safe" is the mouth. Is the mouth made for eating from the surface, water column, or off the rocks and corals. BUT, there's always personality too. That fish is considered not reef safe and yet plenty of reef keepers have them.

Hey Bart,

The Clarion is not a dwarf angel, but more closely related to a Queen than say a Emperor or such. Although any angel is always a gamble, I would consider these amongst the LEAST reef safe angels. That based off my experience with Queen Angels in a reef tank.

That being said, if you decide to pick em up, I hope you dont mind if I swing by to see it!!

:D
