first SW tank

Everyone post pics of their first SW tank. Here's a pic of mine just before I tore it down about 3 years ago. It had no LR and an eclipse 3 hood for filtration. LMAO.

Yeah, mine also was an eclipse 3 hood. Quite, possibly the worst way to try to set up a reef. Lack of lighting, poor filtration, no way to expand or upgrade. Great example between Freshwater/FO tanks and a reef tank.

But look at the great coloration you had......Those colors look almost fake.....

At one point I modded the hod to hold a lee's counter current skimmer. BTW that's fake LR in the first tank.

i think everyeone's had a lionfish at one time or another. i started sw w/ a 20L . some crushed coral, and a crapload of that bowl rock from exotic.

Bowl rock can look nice if it's well aquascaped in a FO tank IMO. I think everyone started with crushed coral as well.

yea it can, in my current tank, the base of the right tower is actually bowl rock. it's surprisingly pretty pourous too

Yeah, I did the 65w pc conversion and hacked in a CPR backpak....nothing like a Hot Rod Eclipse tank!!
