First Time Clam Owner - Maxi/Derasa

Just got these today. Looking forward to see how they do in my tank. The Derasa is already pretty big and I understand they grow pretty fast which would be good incentive to hurry up and upgrade already.

Thanks. I've got a standard 55 gallon 4x54W ATI Sunpower. 2xBlue+, 1xABSpecial, 1xFiji Purple..


Pretty standard clean up crew. Bunch of snails and dwarf hermits. Keeping an eye on my Coral Beauty.

you should do that. any signs of nipping need to be taken care of right away.

Wow, looking forward to that but hopefully not too soon. Will definitely have to move some rocks around and free up some space. 55's are too thin.

Second day the derasa looks about the same. Maxima has plopped down on the sand twice now. I'm trying to find a decent spot so it will attach to the small rock I have for it. I think it's expanded a bit more. Since smaller maxima's don't have the best survival so I read, about how long until I know I'm in the clear? Also just wondering how much they usually expand. Just trying to get a good baseline so I can tell if something should go wrong.
