first time using TT method

Got a 10g tank with a power filter on it and a heater. Fish (white tail bristle-tooth tang) was introduced to it at 11pm central. Just want to make sure i have this right.

Transfer #1 on 10/29 by 11pm
Transfer #2 on 11/01 by 11pm
Transfer #3 on 11/04 by 11pm
Transfer #4 on 11/07 by 11pm

Then transferred to cycled QT for 1 month observation.

Also have seachem ammonia alert badge on tank. If no ammonia is detected, is adding Prime necessary?

You should always add prime as a conditioner if using tap water. If using rodi only use it if ammonia starts to rise.
Just to make sure, you're using a clean tank for each transfer and not the same one with fresh salt water, correct?

FYI...the ammonia badges are indicators, but I have seen it show 0 ppm, but when I test with an API test kit, show a slight reading.

Prime if dosed according to the water volume, is not going to hurt your fish.....the presence of ammonia is ALOT worse.

I was using a chunk of a seeded sponge in each of my Tank transfers, that was taken from my DT...that helped with any ammonia. I just finished my TT last week and now going through observation. It's a great method, and will use it from now on.

Yes I acutally have 4 different tanks setup for this whole process, since I have them i just thought it would make it easier and I could worry about cleaning them later.

Does Prime have a shelf life? I have a bottle I bought a little over a year ago and I don't see any expiration date on it.

Prime doesn't expire AFAIK, certainly not after a year. Personally, on days 2-3 of each transfer I put a couple precautionary drops of prime in the water in the morning, doesn't seem to bother the fish and it's a heck of a lot better than an ammonia spike occuring while I'm at work.

Wanted to update on my TT currently in progress. So far so good and fish is eating and acting healthy and has not shown any signs of anything yet. Here is a breakdown of my transfers:

On 10/26 the fish was added to tank at 11pm
On 10/29 Transfer #1 happened at 8:15 am
On 11/1 Transfer #2 happened at 7:45 am
On 11/3 Transfer #3 happened at 7:30 pm
Next transfer is planned for tomorrow at around 6pm
And finally on 11/8 he will go into the permanent QT i have setup for a couple of months. If my thinking is correct, 11/7 will be the 12 day mark from the begining and he can be put in the QT any time after that mark correct?

Looks good! Just insure a transfer cycle is less than 72 hours and the total is 12 days.
