Fish Death - Blackspot Angle

Hope you can help me. I recently had a Blackspot Angle that died after aquiring it 6 months earlier. It seemed to be fine - eating every chance it had. The only strange behavior I observed was that it began to swim up-and-down in one area of the tank, instead of swiming regularly around the tank. It began to slow down and eventually died. The fish had NO outward appearance that it was sick, other than swiming vertically in the tank.

Any idea why it died?

Sorry to hear that. They are an amazing fish.
What are your full tank parameters. Have you added anything that may have stressed the fish out. They are quite a timid specie.
Are any of your other animals looking stressed (inc corals)

Sorry to say, but your angel was collected with Cyanide or similar substance. ( well, 90% certain IMO). They are very hard fish to find & collect ( like Golden's). Shameful practice with an inevitable outcome..

Sheol is possibly right but cyanide usually shows effect, particularly with eating, straight away. Still check your params and get back to us

Strange thing - parameters and all other inhibitants are find. He made it fine for 6 mths, then started swiming up and down!

The swimming pattern is a sign of stress. If your other animals are ok, params are good and you haven't made any changes/additions you may never get to the cause of the problem
