Fish growth and Flow

Some time ago I noticed a correlation between fish growth and water movement in the aquarium. Lately I am seeing it more with some of my tanks and fish as time goes on.

What I began noticing is fish in tanks with lower/slower water movement grow faster. Fish in high flow tanks grow slower. Although this isnt the case for all (gary m. has fat fish and high flow). I am basing this on many tanks. Tanks that have been around for at least a year and fed same foods. I think fish in higher flow tanks must burn more energy to keep up.

Water flow definitely affects a lot of things in an aquarium. IME fish in a slow flow aquarium can (possibly) get chubby!
Related note: "Junior" (my Emperor Angelfish) can swim directly in front of my Vortech MP60 at full blast. So there's a correlation between the size of the species and amount of water flow and rate of growth.
Apparently the MP60 at full blast isn't high flow for a large Emperor Angelfish :spin2:
