Fish on a plane...?

Clown Whisperererer
Alright so I am relocating for a job from Austin, TX to Kennewick, WA. A bit too far to just throw everthing in a bucket and drive.

I am really only concerned about keeping my Platinum Clowns (I call mine panda clowns cause platinum is just a stupid name). Anyway..

I am actually considering two options. First since I will have to drive, I could throw the clowns in a bucket with LR and a airator for 3 days. The other option that I think may actually be less stressfull is to put them in a shipping container (fill bag with 1/3 h2o and 2/3 o2 the ususall stuff) and just put them in animal cargo on the plane... I already have a new tank set up in WA.

Does this seem possible..?

im too lazy to post pics photos are under the thread "One year old platinums!!"

Is Samuel L gonna be in this one?

I had too.....

I would think they would be ok but I am sure someone here will know for sure

Call the airline and tell then you need to transport fish. Ask if you would be able to do so in a small carry on cooler. May work.

Maybe FedEx them to yourself.

If you call the airline and get the "OK" to bring them on the plane, that in no way means that when you get to the airport the story won't have changed (either with TSA or the airline).

If you have someone you know on either end you'd trust to ship/receive the fish that's the route I'd take. That's what I did with a favorite coral when we moved to Fl.

Plane and car travel are too uncertain to take the risk imo.

I do have someone on both ends that I could ship with. However, I have called the airlines and I can put the fish in the pet compartment on the plane.. This compartment should be pressurized and also temperature controlled.

I personally feel this the best option as the total travel time is so low. Shipping them would be probably 30 hr or more in a box.

I am driving so I could throw it in a bucket with a LR and airator but that is a long trip.
