I plan on doing a primarily soft coral tank and I've read multiple times that they prefer a "dirty tank." Right now I'm fishless, would it be better to get a couple of fish first and give it a few months or can I get a few soft frags now before I add any fish?
You can get both. Fish in qt while softies in main. While you are waiting for qt period to be over with, you can be growing/perfecting the chemistry on main tank.
