) know if Fish Planet is stocked w/salt water fish/corals now? Is their display tank up yet?

Yep. Was there about a week ago. Some corals, some LR, some SW -- Not loads. Owner should be this month's speaker.
All that being said: Looks like this guy is trying to "do it right" and has the resume to pull it off.
The impression I get so far is that he's trying to be a
LFS that supplies the mainstream stuff (FW) yet still can be big enough/diverse enough to help the reefers.

Saw that. Other prices are reasonable. Just gotta know your prices.

I don't think it's appropriate to bring up competitive pricing when someone is willing to come and talk to us.
His subject will be, what does it take to open a fish store?
IMO: It's not cool to start price bashing / hounding, comparisons when they are gracious enough to come speak to us.
If you don't like the prices, then shop around elsewhere or go bring it up at the store location,
but the club meeting is not the place, nor the time.

It all depends on how the question is asked especially consider the subject is what it takes to open a fish store and hopefull stay open.
If the owner's objective is to attract foot traffic only, then it makes sense to spend a lot to lease a prime location and markup the prices.
But still I believe it is a reasonable question to ask whether he also intents to be competitive with some of the local stores that carries discount prices. For example while many drygoods prices were high, I also noticed a few on sale setups priced very good.
I don't think anyone who is as good a business person as this store owner appears to be may be offended by such questions.
