Just in the stages of getting my basement done plus a fish room.

How many would add this if they could.

A FLOOR Drain!!!!

It's a good hit to the budget but do most wish they had one.. and just not a sink.

Thank

I'm in the process of putting together my fish room, I don't even have any tanks running yet and I've already dumped a few gallons on the floor disconnecting pumps. If I were able without a doubt I would add a drain.

That's why I'm putting up a wall for a fish room in my 3750 sq ft tile shop. It has 12 drains along including a 226,000 gph+ industrial manhole.

I'm excited to finally have some drains (my house has like none - besides the standard plumbing drains in the tubs/sinks)

So a floor drain will be back in the budget.

Then what kind of flooring

We are planing to use the same flooring that will go into our laundry room. A type of fiber anolium (lol on the spelling) then put up up 4 inches on the wall to contain the water.

Plus a 4 inches step below the door almost like a shower. So if any water leaks out it will be contained.

Any better ideas welcome

Drain leads to mud with concoreate on top of it.

I live in canada and have a basement. No need to worry about a mouse coming in there.

But thanks for looking out for me.

lol sorry, wasn't trying to sound condescending. My responses are usually short when typing on my smart phone. That and I just hate field mice.

They tend to come in the smallest crack. I had them coming up my floor drain despite all attempts to close it off. I eventually gave up and filled it in.

No problem
I'm not taking it at that way at all

If the existing DWV (drain, waste & vent) plumbing is cast iron don't connect your new floor drain to it. The salt water will DESTROY cast iron with a quickness..

We are breaking g up basement floor and tie it into the main line and having a new vent

All of our current plumbing is plastic.

But yet again once you Crack it you don't know for sure what they used under it.
