OK here is a perfect plan. Worked for me. Started with a single 60 gallon 10 years ago. Stocked a quarter sized Hippo, a 1 inch maroon and same size PJ Cardinal, watchman goby and small six line. Also had a 30 gal. Running. Few years go by, meet girl, girl moves in and she falls in love with tanks and dog. Fish are getting bigger corals growing, start planning a bigger home for growing family... time for a 90 gallon. I am planning for months on how to set up the 90 , transfer over 30 to the 60 and 60 to the 90 and convince girl that this needs to be done. The girl, now my fiance sees the notebook I'm doodling generic fish in, one being a seahorse, and says, I think a sea horse tank would be fun. I see the opening for a tank and next day grab a seahorse tank and set it up. Now I have that set up, no seahorse stock though. She can't back out now. It's been 4 years now since the 60 is running. I explain " Hun the fish are just getting to big, "we" need to get a bigger tank for them. Not sure how I pulled out off but a 90 is now housing a 5 inch Hippo and Maroon Clown and the other fish from the 60 And I add a quarter sized Desjardini Sailfin to the 60. 2 years later gotta put the Desjardini in the 90 and the now wife is pregnant. Fish are all getting bigger and so is the wife. Time to go bigger again. Woo-hoo. Wife beats me to it though, need bigger place. Buy a house, convince wife, before we move it would be probably easier to set up a new tank in the new house to make the whole move easier. What, she agreed and never asked how big. 220 it is. 10 years from start... 7 in Hippo, 6 in. Desjardini and 5 inch Maroon. A pair of large Blue Chin triggers, all the other tanks, big dog and one year old little girl and. Naso waiting to be picked up. The point.... you should get a Desjardini Sailfin a Hippo and a Naso, you've got plenty o time before they out grow that tank. And by then, you and me we'll have 300's. That was way long to get to that point.
