Fish Sitters?

I might be moving soon down to Florida and was wondering if anyone knows of a place where they can hold my fish for two weeks during the move? Once my tank is up and running, ship them overnight? Thanks.

You might want to ship them yourself to a place near your new home in FLA until you move. Establish a relationship there with either a local club, or a local store. A store near here will have little incentive in helping you out, except for the money you will pay them, but when you are in Florida you have no recourse if they screw up.

Good point Steverino. I may have to take that into consideration.

I actually thought about loading them up on the drive down to Florida. Have an air pump running and throw some Amquel to do away with the ammonia build up. It's a 24 hour straight drive, but towing a trailer will probably add an extra 5 hours.

To finish my post, I forgot to add that a store there in FLA will have incentive as you will become a new repeat customer if they do it right. I have used a store here in chicagoland that charged me $10 per day to house some fish during a cleaning/move I was doing. Big incentive to get it done quick!!

It would be in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Steverino...what store was it that housed your fish? Was it $10 each fish per day?

Some of the fish I have to house are a little big:

CrossHatch (7-8")
Scribbled Angel (7-8")
Harliquin Tusk (4")
Hawkfish (2")
Yellow Tang (3-4")
Pair of Anthias (1.5")
Naso Tang (3-4")

That would be a little to much for my tank I was going to say I could put them in my tank untill you get down there and then overnight them to you but that bioload would kill my tank it is only a 60

I had 5 discus, freshwater young fish. It was $10 for the whole tank per day, which was actually only a 15 gallon or so. Don't think that size would house your big ones.
