Fish Suggestions

Well, it's been a while since I've posted. Still busy with work and such but I added my first fish this past Monday, after a healthy month long QT. The first fish are 3 Blue/Green Chromis. They seem to be doing fine except for the fact that my tank is now void of the large Pod population hehe.

So my question is what next. I'm having a hard time figuring out what fish I want. I like utility fish, i.e., cleaners, algae eaters. I was trying to do Tank-raised but that is too limiting. I'd like a Tang, but the tank is probably too small, 75g. I'm also looking at the Neon Cleaner Gobie. I have also been looking at the Tiger Gobies like Rich sends out, they have them on sell at "That Pet Place". Not sure you can mix gobies.

The last fish I want to put in are 2 clowns, not even sure which ones yet.

So suggest away all suggestion appreciated.

Mixing gobies is usually ok. There are a ton of cool ones. Just make sure you read up on each one first. They are know jumpers though, so put some kind of a screen over the top. Your clean-up crew will probably be more than adequate for the time being as far as algae etc, but down the road a utility fish would be fun.

I would shy away from a tang unless you plan on upgrading within a couple years (it happens) or have a plan for when it get larger. I have a 125 and can't justify a tang.

There are tons of options, but check out the firefish, dwarf angels, marine betta, radiant wrasse etc. Do some research, because they all have potential plusses and minuses. Same goes for clowns, some have some pretty strong aggressive problems. I am a big fan of the black occellaris or even one black one orange.

just take it slow. and put up pics :)

I really really like the idea of one black and white and one orange and black.

I think the next will be 2 Tiger Gobies and 1 Neon Cleaner Gobie.

I hope to be able to put some pics up this weekend with the new fishes I have in there.

I'll keep you all posted.

I think you mean orange and white ;)

Find me an orange and black clownfish and I'll show you a magic marker job. Always wanted to do that with our orange cat.

Tony,
Initially I wanted to get only tank raised/bred fish as well. Even after all this time I still have not really settled on fish.

Have you considered a Royal Gramma (I've always called them Fairy Basslet)? They are colorful and full of personality.
