Your tank is certainly TOTM material! Amazing tank! I wish I lived near Houston so that I could see the tank in person!

I have a couple of questions. Sorry to get a little off-topic.

1. How deep is your sand bed?

2. What type of maintenance do you do to you sand (i.e. siphon, stir, change, etc)?

3. What inverts do you have to stir and eat detritus in your sand bed?

Thanks!

BTW, Naka's camera skills are crazy!
Phu

1. The sand bed in the main tank is ~1/2" - 1" in the front and ~3" at the back glass. It was original 2-3" all around but i had to suck the sand on the front out due to the strong flow from the Tunze.
I also have a 6" DSB in my refugium (~50 gal).

2 & 3> I do not really do anything mechanically to my sandbed (like siphone or stir... I try not to touch or stir it at all. I have 2 large cucumbers that help keeping the sandbed clean. There are also some various snails under the sandbed that only come out after the lights are off.
hope this help:)

thanks for the info!!! Loving your setup more and more. Always interesting to see differenty strategies for successful tanks.

Thanks Kyle! I told Quoc that was Pavona Maldivensis, but he wouldn't listen :)

Agree.

I am lucky enough to have seen this in person. Every time the pictures get better and better.

Looking great as always!

Thanks SERVO. How's your tank?

Unfortunatly not as great as yours! I found out that somehow I got AEFW's:mad: The good thing is that it forced me to pull out all of my acros and that resulted in me drilling my rocks to peg corals. I am going to do a final treatment this weekend and put all the corals back into the tank.

Did that awesome colony that you got at MACNA do well?

Boy that red Stag has really really taken off! You can put me down on the frag list!!!!! It is nice that we haven't started our blasing summer so early this year, this will allow you to keep better coloration for a little longer!!!!

I'll have to agree with the consensus here, you really should be TOTM!:D

The tank is even more impressive in person. But even more amazing is Quoc's generous fragging and helpful spirit. A true aquatic gentleman!!!:D I've had numerous pleasant and successful frag purchases....hopefully they will do half as well in my tank as his!

ClownReef®, sfilingeri, FibberMcGee, mg426, otterpop510, manosdr, AudioAdict, fisheebill - Thanks for all the generous compliments
:)

Sorry to hear about the AEFW!!! hope they'll be gone forever for you tank and wish one day they will find a solution like the interceptor for redbugs so we (the SPS geeks) can all sleep well again and don't worry too much when adding new corals to our tanks:)

I lost that yellow tort during my vacation in last December... A bunch of failure things happened (long story) right before and during the vacation trip that resulted in the loss of some of my colonies - including the bali table that had grown from a 2" bali culture size to 12" in my tank in 2 1/2 yrs!! killing me.

The red stag is always my most favorite stag and yeah it really takes off lately - including a frag of it that I kept aside in case of accident happen to the mother colony:)

and yeah, I'm dreadful of the coming summer in Houston. So far we have had a pretty mild weahter in May and early June  and I don't have to increase the temp on my tank to 83F yet - thx God. but the bugs already start suiciding in my tank/sump like crazy already!
