heres liveaquaria's list of fish suitable for a nano

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/scateg.cfm?pCatId=2124

10 gal is'nt very big so not too many fish suitable.
I just got a 12 gal. aquapod and wondered what to put it in it also.
I might do a few sexy shrimp and maybe a goby for a fish although I always loved jawfish.

The only problem with the jaw fish is that they need a good subtrate of 5 or 6 ins which would be half that tank.

Yeah I know jawfish need alot of sand. Ive had them before and love them.
Mine usually found a crack somewhere to jump out even after I had them for years. Even in my 150 lol where it had plenty of room.

so aside of posting links to other sites i would much rather have some interesting suggestions as liveaquaria dosent have everything.

I'm a blenny fan.

I had a two spot blenny (Ecsenius bimaculatus) as the only fish in a ten gallon for a while. Most articles say they are very shy, but since his only roomates were a couple of peppermint shrimp, he became very tame and interactive.

There are a number of similar, small blennies in the Ecsenius genus that would easily fit in a 10 gallon and have little effect on the bioload. If I were looking for a rarer one, I'd go with Ecsenius dilemma. A more common but pretty species is Ecsenius stigmatura.

the blenny article

Another interesting 10 gallon project would be a pair of haitian tube blennies (Emblemaria pandionis). Cool if you could get the male to display on a regular basis.

You are very limited in your quest for a rare fish that will thrive in a 10G. Something like a Neon Goby Gobiosoma oceanops would be a good choice as they grow to a very small max. size and are reef safe if you want to grow zoanthids or mushrooms in there. A firefish should do OK too as long as you keep it well covered.

I only posted a link to another site to give you an idea of what fish are suitable for a 10.
There arent that many that are.
Plus some of those gobies like Catalinas like cooler water temps which is harder to keep in a small tank.

I love my Tailspot blenny. He's beautiful and has a great personality. The other day, he picked up a small hermit and threw him off his rock.

I only posted the link to that site because it happens to routinely have my most favorite of the gobies, which would be perfect for a small tank, has great personality, and is not *super* common in people's tanks IMO.

I'll not comment further though.

Most of the above fish are too big for a 10G.
A couple of green banded gobies would be an excellent choice. They are easy to feed and have a great personality.
