Fishroom planning

1. The top half of the exterior walls are covered fiberglass insulation underneath? I think I should remove this. Good idea to replace it with rigid foam boards?
2. Paint the exterior walls with drylock or something similar.
3. Insulate the exterior walls with foam board, R19-R30 (the house in Dayton, Ohio, so I'll probably lean towards more insulation if the cost isn't insane.
4. How important would it be to put drywall up after I put up the foam board. I'd rather not to save time and money, but it would be nice to hang posters on the wall I'm mentally reserving for storage/maintenance. But I figure I should cover the foam board. Ideas? I figure I'll need to put a vapor barrier (just a sheet of plastic?) up before I put up dry wall. Correct?

Any other thoughts or ideas would be appreciated...

Nate

leave the insulation and install the vapor barrier, and install green/blue board. and install a powered vent to control the humidity. research the proper way install the vapor barrier. with the dry wall removed install any new electrical circuts you may want.

Are you just putting your sump in this room, or actually filling it with water ? I have a basement sump room and just made sure to have some way to keep humidity under control (either a dehumidifier or fan to fresh air).

Is it a good idea to put dry lock behind the insulation that is already there?

honestly for a basement room i would consider doing spray foam, then you won't need any other vapor barrier. unless the outside isn't properly done.

This will be a proper fishroom (mostly for small 10 and 20 gallons).

Vapor barrier--I was thinking of stapling plastic sheeting on the framing. So would the blueboard go on top of that or inside the framing against the walls?
