fishtown USA stock list

I stopped by Fishtown today in like months, and I saw some cool stuff they had in. I figured I'd list their stock list, just in case if any of them interests you guys. I always hate driving all the way out there and not find anything I want... but every once in awhile, they get really cool stuff in. This is what they had as of Sunday, 3/19.

- a huge decorator crab
- pom pom crabs!
- tank bred seahorse (so they say)
- lettuce nudibranch
- special for baby nassarius (20 for $14, or 1 for $1.99)
- juvenile powder blue naso tangs (most of them looked poorly taken care of)
- fire shrimp (20 bucks!)
- a huge red angler
- algae blennies (8 bucks!!)
- giant green carpet (20 bucks!)
- staghorn hermits

they had a whole lot of stuff too fish wise, but nothing special worth listing.

The staghorn hermits were priced a bit on the highend..

there were some powder blue tangs i dont know where that 'naso' comes in the name although they did also have some other damaged adult naso tangs..

the carpets were not giant although they were a nice 8" per piece, and they were not green, they were shades of green. The electric greens were sold off at 50 purchased by me mostly for fragging and splitting. although, the other carpets were still pretty nice.

the fire shrimp came from sri lanka and are nicely colored but some are missing appendages , look carefully..

lastly to pay our respects to the sponsors of LIRA i would request that we don't list stock listings of things we see at stores unless it was important or something special..

for example, last week fishtown had some beautifully cheap and healthy cuttlefish which would make anyone proud who's into cephalopods.

uh, what's with the offensive attitude? I was simply trying to save people time of driving down there since it's a long drive for some people. Now their trip would be worth it if they decide to drive down. Paying respects to LIRA... wait, what? lol, Who are you to decide what's important or special in this hobby? I looked for pom pom crabs online for the longest time, so I thought it was special. I mislabled by adding naso in there. w/e. Fire shrimps usually go for 40 bucks in LFS. "They were not green, they were a shade of green?" lmao... maybe that's because Fishtown keeps them under crappy lighting. Most carpets go for way above 20 bucks. It's a good deal for people lookign to save money. Fishtown might be a risky place to buy Fish if you don't QT, but when it comes to inverts, they get in some kickass stock from time to time that most other LFS around my area wouldn't get. I don't think you have any right to simply bring down a person's thread just because it's your time of the month.

You seem to be just looking for an excuse to sound ****ed off. Why?

This thread was started out of a good will, not for whatever reason you're thinking of obviously. So if nothing on this list satisfies your royal taste, then fine; no need to downtalk.

i didnt want to come off that way but your thread just seemed like you were 'endorsing' fishtown when we have sponsors who pay lira for similar activities. and most of those things did satisfy my taste as i bought them from fishtown this week giving them my business. im not bringing down your thread just trying to discuss

once again if you search my previous posts you'll see I purchase the majority of my livestock from fishtown and make many plugs to them, I just don't find it necessary to post all their stock online as moderators have had problems with this in the past and I KNOW you didn't mean any of it in that way just my 2 cents.

I'm not going to search for your posts, no need. I guess it was a misunderstanding between us then. I don't mean to endorse fishtown USA at all. Trust me, I've wasted plenty of cash on Fishtown USA and their poor quality livestock; but like I said, when it comes to inverts... they do seem to get cool stuff in that LFS doesn't get as much. I haven't been part of the RC LIRA forum long enough to know what the history is, but I guess all I'm trying to say is I've posted simply thinking that it might help other members. I don't know. w/e, I can't even see what the point of this debate was.

you are completely correct while their fish are hit or miss they get some awesome inverts many times.. ive even seen them price something worth a lot with a low tag without knowing what it was worth.. and sometimes the opposite ofcourse :)

lol yea I hear yah. Did you see the new fish holding tank they made on the right side (in the saltwater section) where their coral holding tank used to be? How they stock 3, 4,5 fish in tiny 3'' x 3'' cubicles seems kinda cruel...

yes I met the guy who builds their acrylic as well and spoke with him indepth about acrylic design and the ppl who work there.. he used to work with them but quit and works solo now..
