Flagler, St. John's, or Volusia county Florida reef stores?

I'm not new to the hobby, but new to my area in Florida. I can't seem to find the info. I need in the yellow pages. Is anyone familiar with any reef stores that sell RO/DI water in the vicinity of Flagler, St. John's, or Volusia counties? I'm in Palm Coast, so the closer the better. But because I'm now so remote, I'm guessing I'm going to either have to go distilled for top-offs, or plunk down some change for the RO/DI unit I want. But with money short, I'd rather just take a short trip and fill up some large containers (Lasts me a while since I just have a nano reef) to save on cash. Xmas killed me.

Brent, do they have those water dispensing machines in front of any local grocery stores in your area. That might be another alternative for you.

They might, but I haven't ventured out enough yet to determine that. I do know that when I was in Tampa I tried both the Glacier and Culligan brands via machines when I was doing some water testing, and they both seemed to give me issues when compared to the RO/DI water I was using at the LFS. I think it all depends on how often those machines are maintained, though. I remember reading the maintenance charts on the sides of the machines, and some of those machines had 3-5TDS, and the operator in charge apparently thought those were acceptable levels. To drink, yes. But not for a reef tank.

A lot of people, including myself, use the Publix "red top" gallon jugs for top-off. It might not be cost effective for long term, but it can' get you by in the mean time until you can afford that nice RO/DI unit.

Brent, there is a place called Poseidons and another called Amazing Aquarium both on the same road about 2 miles apart in Daytona. Might be a far drive just for some water, but they usually have a good assortment of fish and corals. Both places get their shipments in on thursdays. They are both located on Nova road in Daytona. Other than thoes two places, I don't know of anymore fish stores around here, sorry.

Tried the Publix purified before but kept getting a brown dinoflagellate and/or diatom bloom after long term use for some reason. As for the two stores in Daytona, do you know if they use just RO, or RO/DI? My tank is so small that the params have to be a little "more" than anal, which is why the water has to be the purest possible. RO just doesn't cut it with my tank.....Anyway, Daytona is closer than Jacksonville to me.

I'm not sure about Poseidons, I know they sell RO water, not sure if its DI or not. I'm pretty sure Amazing sells RO/DI along with sea water. If you want to call and check it out here are their numbers. Should both be open until 6:00 or 7:00 tonight.

Poseidons and Amazing Aquariums are farther from Palm coast than Coral Reef...It is on Mason just east of Ridgewood in Holly Hill, and they have RO water, fresh and salt....Their phone number is 386-947-8311 and their address is 224 Mason Ave. in Holly Hill

P.S....Let's open an aquarium store in Ormond beach and make a fortune...Everybody from Ormond goes to Daytona for supplies, etc.

Hi, I also live in Palm Coast. This forum has been a valuable asset to the hobby and now I am grateful to see another local reefer on line here. I am on this site each day studiing.
I was able to get distilled water from Crystal Springs delivered to my home. Also, home depot can order for you too.
Walmart carries spring and distilled but the local pet store here suggested to bring your empty bottles and fill at Albertsons/
You can get drums or containers of RO water in Ormond/Daytona at Coral Reef Aquarium. I can get the link in a moment for you.
I finally bought 2 ro/di units from airwaterice.com. as I was tired of carting gallons everywhere in my van!

craquariums.com is one place to visit. They are in Daytona.They sell water .
Another local Plam Coast shop is "Just Fish" in Amaral Plaza on 100.
They sell water as well.
Drop by the "Oceanus Dive shop", they have a 120 gallon reef tank and have been wonderful in helping me out. They are at the Staples shopping Plaza.They also can advise where to go locally as well as to Jax or Orlando area.
Mr. petman has had great stuff as well , they are in South Daytona. I bought great rock from them.

Sorry, didn't know you had replies already on the DI water. For future reference. Pawriffic Pets is moving across Palm Coast Parkway, across from Sears and their current location. They will be opening a huge salt water hobbiest department in 2 weeks with all the equiptment. I am waiting for their grand opening sale.
I will save lots of money on gas! They order livestock weekly. But, I will still go to Daytona/Ormond for my live critters .
BTW If you need a quick fix for your nano, bring over an empty bottle and I can fill you up with DI.

That tells you how long I've been in Palm Coast--I didn't even know we "had" a Sears. LOL. It must be in its own building or an outside shopping center, as I don't recall seeing any inside malls anywhere around here. Anyway, funny thing that you mentioned Crystal Springs distilled. That was one of the waters with the better parameters that I was testing out. If it's the same Crystal Springs distilled that I'm thinking of, that is. The one they sell in gallon containes at Publix? The other two are Albertson's distilled and Deer Park (Bought it at Publix) drinking water--it (Deer Park) doesn't mention any minerals being added (And, if it did, they'd be a miniscule amount since it only has a TDS of .01) and it also says it's RO filtered. Anyway, I thought about the airwaterice unit that everyone recommends, but since my top-off requirements are only 1-gallon every 7-9 days, that wouldn't be very cost effective for me. I hated carrying my 6-gallon container to the LFS when I lived in Tampa, so I could only imagine what it'd be like having to drive umpteen hours and then cart it around to top it off. As for Pawrific pets, sounds like a place I'd like to visit in a few weeks. I'll keep it in mind--thanks!

Looks like Pawrific is way behind schedule. I went by the new place and they were still putting stuff inside. I wonder who told you "two weeks." Reminds me of "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks and Shelly Long and how the contractors kept saying "two weeks."
