Flame Angel has many dark spots - is he sick?

I bought a nice flame angel recently and he was vivid red all over.
After a week in my tank i noticed that he had darker coloration on his head and around it.

He is behaving normally and eating but i do miss that vivid red...water parameters are fine - what happened to him? is he sick?

Do you have any anemones in the tank, could he have gotten stung

Color variations are common in many fish .. often the result of stress sometimes just natural. If this is a new fish then stress may be a contributor and the problem may go away on its own.
