Flame Bubble Tip Anemone

I'll try to get you pictures tonight Lang. If I was to order another one, I would do the following.

-Slowly drip acclimate for 40 to 60 minutes, also make sure to add a small heater to bring up the water temperature.
-Place it roughly where you want it, but not right at the top of tank
-Place 2 or 3 layers of egg crate on top of tank above nem and remove 1 layer every 4 days
-DO NOT feed krill or large chunks of food. You shouldn't have to directly feed it at all, but a small squirt of rods or brine once a week shouldn't hurt

so my wife received the bta from RHS this morning, i thought she did a faaaaantastic job handling a live order, here are some pics:

this to me look much alike a RBTA, but my wife think different :P
not sure whats up with all those speckles.... kase, frofan does your FBTA have those speckles? i know our RBTA has those speckles! :D

mines has no speckles at all
uh oh....

kase what is your opinon of this BTA, is it just a real nice RBTA?

frofan, does your FBTA have speckles?

i found a pic of RHS FBTA:

cant see any speckles, does it look similar?

thanks for your input kase,
does anyone else think what we received IS NOT A FLAME BTA, your opinon is always apreicated :)

I am pretty sure TRS has a little guy like that in stock and its labled "rose" but looks much brighter than rose. But it could have just been deflated.

It looks like a regular RBTA to me as well, but it might just be the picture. Does it have any yellow/orange in the tips like this one? (Not my pic!)

thanks for the input guys, i will check again tonight, i dont think it has the yellow/orange in the tips,
i am not a BTA expert but the speckles are driving me crazy, looks just like our many RBTA! maybe RHS put a RBTA in the bag instead of a FBTA, bummer....

That for sure a flame bta! i have 2 my self and am getting aother in a few weeks! ill post some pics! When i get a few good shots! i wouldnt mix the fbta and rbta the fbta will lose its flame look and start to look more like a rbta! They also like the water a bit cooler!

Mine had the speckles as well. The tips were a faint yellow as seen in the pictures below.
thanks for your input and the beautiful pictures frofan!
i dont know what to think anymore, kase's FBTA is so distinctly different from the RHS's FBTA both in color and speckles...

That for sure a flame bta! i have 2 my self and am getting aother in a few weeks! ill post some pics! When i get a few good shots!
Haddonisreef when you said "That for sure a flame bta!" which one are you referring to, mines, kase, or frofan?

i wouldnt mix the fbta and rbta the fbta will lose its flame look and start to look more like a rbta! They also like the water a bit cooler!
to me the FBTA and the RBTA looks sooo similar that i thought this could happen as well, actually i explained to my wife that after sometime being in our tank they will all look the same, being soo similar i dont think it should warrent the premium cost,

please post some pic when you get a chance :)

Rose anemone are red in color with some orange and maybe even green. My flame is orange yellow body and bright yellow tips like flames.

I ment yours solRNY! A rbta and fbta are to diff kinds of bta still Eeqoador(sp) but form different part of the ocean! After togeather they will look the same as stated above by trading the alge that give them there color! A true fbta is way more stikning then a rbta! Just my .02

Maybe I'm being rude here, but who cares what this hobby has decided to call it. It's a really nice anemone! Be happy with it!

I don't believe the name is an issue, but the appearance for premium price. If you buy a black and red jaguar and get a black and pink with spots would you just take it and be happy? After all it is a nice car- just not what you paid a premium price for :)
