Fleeing the country: 180 for sale

Yeah... When I set this thing up, that was under the expectation that I would not move again until I was old and gray. So much for that. Looks like instead I am relocating to Edinburgh, Scotland, with my company â€" 1-ton fish tank not included. This tank has been running since August 2006.

Per the usual protocol, initially this is only for sale as a package deal. If (when) that doesn't happen, I will part out.*

*The only possible exception is the fish. It's important to me to find them a good home... so if someone is really looking for a very happy, healthy specimen of one of the below & has good conditions for them, PM me.

Complete setup: $3000

LIVE STUFF

All of these fish are vibrant and active -- who wouldn't be with the 7 of them having the run of the tank?
Flame angel
Coral beauty
2 x ocellaris clowns (mated pair, tank-raised by kathy55g)
2 x yellowtail damsels (mated pair)
Diamond watchman goby

Black serpent starfish
2 x coral-banded shrimps (mated pair)
2 x skunk cleaner shrimps

Orange zoas
Large mixed zoa rock
Brown zoas
Frogspawn
Green-star polyps
Yellow colt coral
Green SPS
Yellow star polyps
Anthelia

~150# live rock

~100# Arag Alive sand, fine white

NOT-LIVE STUFF

All-Glass 180-gallon tank w/dual overflows. Tank is 6' long x 2' high x 2' wide.

Custom-made stand & canopy. Stand and canopy were custom-built to my specs by a talented professional carpenter. They are made of solid walnut, finished with a clear finish to show the natural beauty of the walnut. Every inch was hand-made, even the trim and cabinet doors. The stand is 36" tall; I think the canopy is 14" tall, high enough to comfortably accommodate metal halide lighting. This stand and canopy are my pride and joy; they are beautiful! There are 4 x Panaflow fans installed in canopy (wired together to variable current adapter). The canopy opens at the front and the back and has a sliding feeder door at either end.

3 x 250-watt DE ReefOptix III pendants w/Icecap electronic ballasts. (3 x Phoenix 14k bulbs, in use since Aug 2006)
Icecap 2-bulb x 24" VHO retro kit (actinic bulbs in use since Oct 2006)
Lebos.com 3-light moonlight system w/dimmer. This was never used, new in box.

100-gallon Rubbermaid stock tank for sump. I have this in my basement, plumbed up to the tank through the wall.

ASM G3 protein skimmer

Iwaki MD100RLT return pump. I bought this used, and it could probably use a good cleaning, but it is an absolute beast and a workhorse.

Typhoon III 5-stage RO/DI unit

Refractometer

TDS meter

4 x Maxi-Jet 1200 powerheads

Miscellaneous:
Heaters
Test kits
Plumbing
Filter socks
Food
Medicine
Timers for lights
2 x power strips w/individual power switches (VERY handy!)
2 x 44-gallon Brute trashcans
1 x 32-gallon Brute trashcan

Quarantine setup:
29-gallon quarantine tank
Iron stand
Eheim power filter
Aquaclear powerhead

Answers to a couple of questions that have been PMed to me:

The clowns are young, but I would not call them babies (and they clearly exhibit the male/female roles). I have not seen them spawn. They host in the anthelia.

The yellowtail damsels are spawning regularly and are great fun to watch; their current selection for the nest is a big piece of Marshall Island rock, and they spend a lot of their time following each other through it.

So that I can take this down, I'd like to go ahead and place the fishies with good homes. As stated, all of these are happy & healthy, and I want to put them in happy, healthy homes. Interest has been expressed in all fish but the coral beauty; the users listed below have first dibs as noted:

$50 -- flame angel -- trottman?
$15 -- 2 x yellowtail blue damsels, mated pair -- trottman?
$25 -- diamond watchman goby (sifts sand constantly & also takes prepared foods) -- ncox38?
$40 -- 2 x ocellaris clowns, mated pair -- ncox38?
$40 -- coral beauty

$50 -- 2 x coral-banded shrimp, mated pair (These guys are just awesome. CB shrimp will kill each other if not in a mated pair.)

$35 -- 2 x skunk cleaner shrimps

$15 -- black serpent starfish

There are now some pics of the stand, canopy, tank, & corals here:
http://www.erronis.net/aquarium
Stand/canopy/new-tank pics are in the main folder; for current tank pics & some crappy pics of the corals (I'm lousy at tank photography), go to the june2007 folder.

However, I am not yet selling the corals separately, as they will just go with the complete setup if I can sell it all together.

Update on the fish & non-coral inverts:

flame angel -- SOLD
2 x yellowtail blue damsels, mated pair -- SOLD
diamond watchman goby -- SOLD

FOR SALE:
$40 -- 2 x ocellaris clowns, mated pair
$35 -- coral beauty
$40 -- 2 x coral-banded shrimp, mated pair
$30 -- 2 x skunk cleaner shrimps
$10 -- black serpent starfish

OK, parting out.

If you PMed me about an item, I am trying to give you first dibs on it. However, if I PMed you and you read the PM but did not respond, I may proceed with selling elsewhere. I don't have time to wait on maybe's.

First things first:

The fish & inverts listed above must go first, as well as:

$150 takes all corals. I don't have the time or inclination to meet multiple visitors so want to sell these all at once. 1 med zoa rock w/mix of green/green and green w/orange centers. 1 med zoa rock with red-brown w/orange centers. 1 large zoa rock w/mix of brown w/green centers & orange w/white centers. 1 med rock w/yellow polyps. 1 med rock w/GSP. 1 green/pink frogspawn. 1 green branching SPS. 1 yellow colt coral (doing OK but needs some attention, I've been bad about feeding it -- I have food for it that you can have).

$400 -- all live rock. (Check your PMs, StupidsReef! :) ) This is actually ~160# of rock, from various sources. A lot of cool shapes and swim-throughs, several with softies growing here and there. I do not have a scale and will not sell smaller batches.

Then:

$500 -- 180 AGA tank. Several people have expressed interest in this, but I have nothing firm. This thing is a beast to move; you will need 4 guys to safely handle it. No, I do not have a truck or the means to deliver.

$1300 -- custom walnut stand & canopy -- FIRM. This may seem pricey compared with the pine setups you'll find in an LFS... there is a reason. FYI, the mass-produced AGA fake-maple stand/canopy combos are about $1300. This is worth easily $1600-$1800. I will store this if I cannot sell it; this price is non-negotiable.

Still FOR SALE:

$500 - 180 AGA tank

$1300 - Custom walnut stand & cap

$400 - 160# nice live rock (that is $2.50/lb!)

$10 - Black serpent starfish. This guy is very cool... when I feed the tank, he crawls right out from the rocks to try to get his share.

$25 - Lovely coral beauty named Midnight. She currently has the entire 180 to roam and graze by herself; I think she rather likes it that way, but unfortunately for her it cannot last.

What is the footprint of the G3?

Looks like about 10" x 13," or a little less.
