So my refugium overflowed today dispensing 40 gallons of water on my floor...went under the wall, thru the kitchen and under my pergo floor...

How do you say W T F!

I thought bad things only came in 3's...!!!!

Whoever made that rule up should be shot!

Anywho,

everything is torn up and being blown dry...how fun is that!

Oh I feel your pain but not as bad as yours though. 40 gal., thats a lot. When it happened to me, I hyperventilated and it was only 5 gal. Lucky for me it was only contained in that room since it was a step lower than the rest of the house. But an expensive Sunday call to a carpet cleaner later it was all fixed.

that sucks man - i had cracked hose in my overflow and my 47 bow front leak all over my hardwood floors. its a tough break - hope your luck gets better

Pergo does not like water. Do everything you can to dry that out as fast as you possibly can.

Jeff, sorry to hear that, I remember a few weeks ago when I was over at your house to pickup the green cap talking about your plastic garbage can and how well you said you sealed the bulkhead fitting. It looked a littly scary to me though with the plastic bulging! What exactly happened?

oh it held up fine...the drain got clogged when a clump of algae broke free and said this looks like a great spot to clog the drain...

ugh...yeah i agree was way too risky!

Does insurance cover damage done by fish tank leaks or floods?

I'm not sure I would call them. I had a fire and they covered the tank equipment, fish and coral that I lost. I have allstate for the house.

I am looking to setup a 40+ gallon tank in my room that is upstairs, is that a good idea? :/ like if something happened, and it leaked out, would it be more devastating of damage than if it were ont he first floor? The owners of the house don want an aquarium on the first floor but were fine with me keeping one in my room....... this thread got me worries. I have never had any problems with water the 2 years i had my 75 (except when doing water changes and i trip over the 5 gallon bucket FILLED with water......all over my computer.....yeah lol)
