I was in North Alabama earlier this week and stopped in at PetCo in Florence next to Target on Cox Creek Pkwy. Their marine livestock actually looked pretty good. I was suprised to say the least. I spoke with the manager and he said he was a hobbiest as well so he wanted to keep decent stuff.

I was impressed to see a big box store actually keep up their marine section.

They have come a long way from when they opened. Micheal has done a great job getting the SW section in shape. I go there to get some of my SW stuff for my customers. Micheal is very helpful when I need to special order stuff.

I wish all big chain stores could do what they are doing!

I was in there last week and they have definitely improved over the years. I only get by there once every few months or so, so my impression of the store is like time lapse photography.

I think they have problems that they'll never be able to overcome (e.g. smallish holding tanks for all specimens), but that particular store is doing much better than most of the chain pet stores.

Thanks for the compliments. We try to do the best we can given what we have to work with. Having a lot of corporate red tape to go through can keep us from some things but we are always fighting to make as many improvements as we can. I know our tanks will never come close to John's at CRA but we do what we can lol.
