Flow for 72X36X24 Eurobraced

Hi Roger,

I am in the process of setting up a 270 gallon mixed reef. How would a wavebox box work if there was only about 1 inch of clearance between the eurobrace and the water level in the tank? I would like to use the wavebox if possible in addition to two stream pumps. Am I better off going with two 6205 or two 6305? Thank you for your time.

Can you give me tank dimensions? The wavebox would work but the wave height would have to be reduced by turning down the pump to prevent water from splashing out of the tank.

Sure, 72 L X 36 W X 24H. The overflow is centered along the back wall of the tank and is approximately 18 inches long by approximately 5 inches deep. Thank you again for the help please let me know if you need any additional information.

The wavebox will work for sure but rom your description a 1" wave would be the max since that is where water would pour over the bracing and tank edge. You would need to turn the pump power down.

You could go either way, the 6205 flow is very effective for a 3ft by 5ft area, the 6305 will cover closer to 3ft by 7ft. I think 2 6205 and a wavebox is sufficient.
