Flow Question for 650G Reef

Hey everyone, I am attempting to get a strong random flow for my 650G reef tank which is 130'' x 36'' x 32'' using 4 Vortech MP40s. I have tried a number of configurations with single vortechs in each quadant and even multiple vortechs on a wall running at 100%.. In each case I only get water movement for the first 24'' and the water at the center of the tank is not really moving. I "Think" installing MP60's instead might be an option but I am nervous to spend the cash and just have the same problem. Is anyone using an MP60 on a long tank? How far can an MP60 push water?? Also, is there a different configuration for the MP40's that might get better water flow down the tank? I am not doing any wave motion because I dont want to stress the tank...so I am using either constant 100%..or Reef Crest Mode.

Thanks!!

MP40 is way to small for that set up. how thick is the glass?

I have both 60 and 40 ... flow of 40 gets to 30" , flow of MP60 gets to about 4.5 foot.

Id go with 4 MP 60 and some MP40s on back in that tank if you are thinking SPS.

You could sell your 40s and go with a Hydro Wizard $ 1,700.00 shipped to your door flow would no longer be a problem:)

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. The tank is actually viewable from bothe sides so I can only put the pumps at the edges...so that creates a problem with having to push water all the way across the tank from both sides. I ran the ecotech flow calculator a while back and based on that, if I added only one MP60 to the setup I could be in the right range...but given the length of the tank I dont think thats accurate. I guess I will have to shell out for an MP60 and do a test. If it really reaches 4.5 feet then it might be just enough to have them on each edge along with the MP40s. Thanks for the feedback!!!
