Sorry Jesse, but the lotus in firstsalt's pond wins, because it's a lotus in his pond!

If it had been a lotus in his neighbor's pond, then I'd give it to your first shot. I like your second shot very much but the glare in the water bothers me a lot. Like irrationally so. My issue...

Nice pics.

Beautiful Dino.

That's funny, I never noticed the glare till you mentioned it. The pic was from earlier this year and I even had it on my desktop for awhile. Now when I look at it, all I see is the glare.

I'm so verclept!!!!

Sorry man! It's a beautiful image with great color, lovely composition and wonderfully diffuse background. Don't let me and my weird issue detract from that.

I've been wondering why the glare bothers me so much as I am so generally for the concept of rain soaked flowers. I think it's because I perceive the glare as covering up or hiding the flower instead of augmenting the visuals with moisture laden goodness.

Also I'm a fisherman and use polarized glasses to cut through glare. So I may be more sensitive to glare as an issue.

I wonder if a polarizing filter wouldn't have cut through that glare?

Sweet pic Dino! I like all the negative space.

I always liked this pic my then 13yr old son took the day we got our Canon Xti when it first came out. He went out in the yard and took pics of everything he could it seemed like. I really liked the bright clear yellow of this with the water drops.
