So im trying to find a different source of fluke tabs, they have the side effect of killing blue clove polyps and gsp. They no longer seem to make them, so w the active ingrediants being methl-5-benzol-benzimidazole-2-carbamate
dimethyl(2,2,2-trichlor-1-hydroxyethyl) phosphonate, any idea what part kills them and a alternative. thanks

im trying to get rid of all the blue clove polyps that are taking over my tank. fluke tabs were found to have that side effect, but they dont seem to make them anymore.

I know what you are trying to kill but don't know which element in fluke tabs cause the blue anthelia/ gorgonia or whatever they are to die. I have some in my tanks but they are not taking over and make pretty filler. Once in a while I mash them eith a tooth brush. Mostly , I don't like it when the y geow or the gorgonia stem or invade zoantidae colonies.

Maybe somebody knos and will chime in. Good luck and let us know what you find out .

Either one, or both ingredients could be responsible. The first is Mebendazole, and no longer available in the US. The second is Dylox (aka Tricholorfon), which is no longer marked for aquatic use and getting hard to find in general. Both are pesticides that need to be used with caution.
