Fluke treatment in display

My flame angel has some discoloration around her eye... I did TT with her before adding to the DT but I did not do prazi pro. As she is in DT now do I need to treat entire tank or pull her out for treatment? She is in my 55 gallon fowlr + mushrooms. Other fish in tank are Valentini puffer, goby, dragon wrasse, fire shrimp. They have been tank for over 3 months all eating and fat.

I just read a thread on flukes and am now convinced flame angel has them however other fish seem fine.

Should I treat entire tank with prazi pro for 5 days and then run carbon? Pls confirm prazi is age for those fish and the mushrooms.

Thanks

Should be fine. Prazi is one of the few medications that is safe for the DT. Be sure to turn of your skimmer (if you run one), as it will go crazy.

OK please help! My flame angel died overnight... and now my valentini puffer is really breathing heavy... and looks sick? I am sure I dosed the right amount of prazi pro? I think maybe the flame angel died b/c she was covered with flukes? I put her in water to see if anything comes out? nothing that I can see?

what do I do now? do I run carbon to filter out the medication? how do I treat / save my puffer? is it to late?

I have a 55 gallon FOWLR + Mushrooms. Every fish who entered the tank did TT. The flame angel had some white markings on her face... and eye odd discoloration. She ate like a pig and was FAT. She was like this for 6 months. I noticed yesterday my flame and my puffer breathing heavy.. so I concluded they had flukes and treated entire tank w/ Prazi Pro in my DT. This morning my Flame is dead and my puffer breathing heavy laying on the sand. I have three other fish goby / percula clown / dragon wrasse. Goby and clown are breathing heavy I can't find dragon wrasse however he hides in sand a lot. I started running carbon to remove prazi pro. Mushroom coral and fire shrimp doing fine.

What now? Can I save my puffer with fresh water dip? How long until carbon removes prazi pro?

I did look at my flame angel and placed her n water.. I see no flukes in the water I placed her in? After I dosed I watched fish last night.. they seemed fine. I tried to see if flukes would fall off? I saw nothing.. maybe a few more spots on my flame angel.. ? it was inconclusive? Would it be obvious

I did add new Live Rock with mushrooms 8 days ago? I drip acclimated and tried NOT to carry any of the water from the rock into the tank? I can TT and QT my fish however I don't have another set of lights to QT all coral?

any ideas what I have? I am thinking it is not flukes b/c why would prazi pro kill my fish? I also have prazi pro running in my QT tank and those fish are fine?

Tank parameters look fine:
ammonia alert badge zero
Salinity 1.023
Temp good

I am testing water parameters now..

How much prazi did you dose? I agree with you that prazi is unlikely the cause of death unless you grossly overdosed (again, unlikely).

I dosed two teaspoons and a pinch of Prazi Pro for a 48 gallon FOWLR tank. One teaspoon in the morning.. I watched the fish they were the same... I dosed in the afternoon 1 teaspoon and watched them they were the same HOWEVER I might have seen some more white on the angel fish? Then at bedtime I dosed a TINY PINCH more of prazi pro b/c 20 gallons = one teaspoon. and my tank is 48 gallons...

My Valentini puffer was laying against the power head this am.. breathing but stuck to the filter. I added a HOB filter with Carbon.... and for the rest of the day he laid on the sand.. I thought he was goner BUT this evening he is right side up and swimming. When I fed them 2-nite he tried to eat.. took the food in but spat it out?

So taking out the prazi pro seemed to have for the short term help the puffer? But what could be wrong? Why were they breathing heavy if not flukes? As I stated above the only addition was Live rock w/ mushrooms 8 days ago?

I'm interested in this also as im going through something similar with my Green Spotted Puffer. Did my second dose of PraziPro last night after a 20 gallon WC (my tank is 55 gal). My puffer has been laying on the bottom of the tank all day breathing heavy. I thought the PraziPro was working and it must have been flukes as he initially got a little appetite back. But now I just don't know. Best of luck to you!

Prazi is known for depleting the oxygen therefore increased aeration is recommended. I know wrasses can have a hard time with Prazi (same symptoms as your puffer) but I haven't read any puffers having that reaction. I'm not saying it's not possible just that I haven't seen it.

I ran carbon and increased aeration b/c the filter that runs the carbon adds another water current to the system. My valentini puffer is swimming today... but his appetite is not what it should be?

I tend to think that the oxygen depletion from the prazi pro is what caused the death and the heavy breathing. I am not sure I have flukes at all? How do I tell if the remaining fish and tank have flukes?

snorvich any advice here? I have two tanks? Now that I stopped treating my 55 gallon DT with prazi pro fish look better? I am really wondering if it was just oxygen depletion?

I have used PP several times on my DT and with all fish in QT and have never had a death from PP. I also have good water movement in my QT
